Our new Camburg Trail Series Long-Travel kit bridges the gap between daily driver and race truck. We designed this kit with the ability to build up your truck in stages or all at once. With every new design project, we address what the truck needs, what features we want to incorporate and blend proven aspects from our race series long-travel kits and design elements from our newer Ford Raptor long-travel kit.
Wanting to gain wheel travel, articulation and stability, we went 2” wider per side. With only going 2” wider per side, we also give you the ability to run the OEM fenders and fender flares (with trimming) vs having to run larger fiberglass fenders. This is great for tighter trail use and also keeps the costs down while staying with the OEM look.
We recommend extended travel version coilovers for maximum useable wheel travel.
Adding a bump stop to our long-travel kit adds a ton more control and bottoming resistance. This allows for a soft plush ride through the small stuff that doesn’t bottom out easily through the bigger hits and g-outs. This is great add-on.
Why a slapper arm setup you ask? The main benefit is it allows the air bump to strike further outboard on the lower arm making it much more effective and efficient. We’re able to keep the motion ratio geometry consistent through the bottoming out travel so there is constant contact with the lower arm and the bump stop isn’t swiping the lower arm. The bump stops only comes into play toward bottoming and allows free movement in the “ride zone” so the suspension is more active in that range. With the slapper arm design we’re also able to incorporate a rubber pad to reduce noise on contact. Last but not least, it’s really cool too.
This is designed for our custom FOX or King 2.5 bump stops that work more like an air shock. We’ve spent extensive time testing getting these dialed in for our kit. We have the FOX’s cerakoted gray which is a high performance ceramic coating used in FOX’s trophy truck race shocks. We supply aircraft AN bolts for the upper and lower mounts that have the proper grip/shoulder length for maximum strength.
Mounts come raw as they need to be welded on. We recommend spraying them with black Steel-IT after welding.
